terms of service

Last updated: 2 July 2026

1. The service

now recording (“the Service”) is a browser-based meeting recorder that transcribes and summarizes meetings on your device, with optional cloud sync of your transcripts and summaries to your account when you sign in. By using the Service you agree to these terms.

2. Recording & consent — your responsibility

Laws on recording conversations vary by country and (in the US) by state. Some places require every participant to consent before a conversation is recorded. You are solely responsible for knowing and following the recording, privacy, and consent laws that apply to you, and for obtaining any consent required from the other people in a meeting before you record. You represent that you have the right to record each meeting you capture with the Service. We are a tool; the legal duty to obtain consent is yours.

3. Accounts & billing

The Service is currently free for everyone during early access — there is no paid subscription, no trial, and nothing to cancel. Paid plans (such as a “Pro” tier) may be introduced later; if they are, we will give notice and publish pricing, billing, and refund terms before charging anyone. Accounts are handled by Clerk.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to break the law, infringe others’ rights, or record people unlawfully.

5. Your content & data

Your audio stays on your device. If you sign in and sync, the text (transcripts and summaries) is synced to your account. You own your content. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Disclaimers & liability

The Service is provided “as is.” Transcripts and AI summaries may contain errors and should not be relied on as a verbatim or legal record.

7. Changes & contact

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes. Questions: hello@nowrecording.com.
